Katie’s Birthday

Katie turned 8 on March 14th. We had a small birthday celebration on her actual birthday, but she wanted to wait for her big party for when all our family was in town for her baptism, so the actual big celebration wasnt until almost two weeks after her birthday.

I made her a pink Strawberry checkerboard cake. Since I had to use two boxes of mix to make the checkerboard I made some cupcakes too.

Grandma Bake wanted to make a cake with Kate so we had a second cake that was chocolate with peeps.

Kate is a smart, smart kid. She is the type of kid that school was designed for. She eats it up with a spoon and asks for more. She loves being a little mommy and has more of a “first child” personality than a “second child” personality. She desperately wishes for little sister, and frequently mourns being the only girl amidst a gaggle of boys.  Thank goodness for my sister’s daughter Addie, because she allows Kate to treat her like a little sister.

Three cheers for the kate! I'm glad she had a nice birthday and baptism. It's fun to see the lineup of pics like that too.
