House Stuff

I never did post final “finished” pictures after all the painting. The downstairs is pretty much finished. The only thing left to paint are the two walls you see in the first two pictures. Oh, and get matching bookcases for the front room lol.
We moved the TV from the boy’s room downstairs, hooked the wii up to it, and moved the loveseat from the family room. I love this set up because it lets the kids watch kid shows while we can watch boring adult stuff in the family room.
 

The family room is mostly old news. Painted, and minor furniture shuffling.


We moved the room break between the family room and the kitchen nook from the awkward position it was at, to where the ceiling level changes. We also got rid of the horrible vertical blinds and I painted (and painted, and painted) the sliding door frame that was formerly just primed. Its amazing how much paint that thing sucked up.
 

Since the back wall was painted Orange, I’ve painted the side wall chocolate brown. I love it! The brown actually wraps around to the breakfast nook. 


The kitchen was a beast to paint because of the soffit and the space under the counters. The color change wasnt huge. Before it was a really soft warm gray. I HATED it lol. It just looked dingy. The new color is a light cream. It just warms up the room and brightens it. My blessed husband changed out the old electrical sockets for new ones. The old ones were so loose they were worthless. You would plug something in and it would immediately fall out again.


Obviously we still need to replace the flooring and eventually paint the cabinets, but that will have to wait until this summer.
