Ive had a few people ask, so I figured I would explain. Kyle started at Nike as a Production artist. And Im sure that there will be some *facepalms* from actual designers and PAs for this explanation, but from what I understand there are designers, who draw the pretty pictures of what the item is supposed to look like, and production artitst take that drawing and turn it into a technical drawing for the factory with all the different color ways and logos. Kyle has gone from being a PA to being someone who creates and modifies the processes that the PAs use to do their job. So an artist that speaks technical geek. He helps streamline processes and helps PAs and designers know how to use their software efficiently. He is kind of sad that he is moving away from actual design, but its nice to be changing things and making things work better.
Nike European Headquarters are located outside of Amsterdam. So he is there this week teaching the Europe crew how to use new software and processes. He got to fly out business class to Amsterdam and is staying at the fancy pants Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam. He is gone until next Friday.
He has been to Amsterdam once before but since we both have Iphones now, this trip has been a little less painful since we can do Skype and facetime. Thank goodness for technology. I cant imagine having to wait for written letters in the mail.
