Funny Story….

We got a garage door opener with our tax returns, and Kyle spent most of today and yesterday installing it. Since he needed the garage space he moved the plethora of kids bikes we own out into the front driveway. When the job was finished and Kyle was putting everything away he noticed Tyler’s scooter wasn't there, also that his ride on car wasn't there. His trike, and his big dump truck were missing too. I asked Tyler if he could remember where he left them and he just said that he left them when he was playing in the forest. (there are no forests nearby, and definitely none he has been playing in)  We checked out our back-yard and shed, then in the boys room thinking MAYBE they had taken them upstairs.   When they weren't there I walked across the street to my neighbor’s house. All our kids have been back and forth between the two houses today, so I figured they might have been transferred over there. We looked in the garage and in their backyard with no luck. By this point I was devastated. All I could picture in my head was poor Tyler having nothing to play with while all his friends rode around him in circles. I knocked on the doors of all our neighbors on the cul-de-sac, and did a little walk around the block to see if they had been stashed somewhere. A call to the sheriffs department and some tears later and we found out who had stole them.
Apparently the new bike gang in town had taken a shine to them and had hidden them in one of their garages. Who are these nefarious gangsters who would steal a toddlers bike?

(that would be my nefarious gangster on the right) The funny thing is,  the garage they were stashed in is also the neighbor’s garage I had looked in an hour or two before. They had just been crammed in between the wall and the van and not in the obvious open space, or the space in front of the van. I wasn't the only adult who missed seeing them in there either.
So now the bikes are happily home, and the mama bear has gone back into her cave to hibernate.

oh, that would be so sad if it was all gone! Not just that you'd miss out on the stuff, but just to know that things arent safe would stink. Glad you found them.
